VOTING AS A UCONN STUDENT
UConn students, as with anyone with multiple addresses, may register and vote either at their “home” address or at the address where they live while at school.
To vote in Mansfield, you may:
Register to vote at your UConn address here before 10/16 (requires CT DMV ID); or
Register and vote at the same time during Early Voting from 10am-6pm at the UConn Bookstore or Mansfield Town Hall between October 19 & November 1, open late 10/27 and 10/29; or
Register and vote at the same time on Election Day, November 3, from 6am-8pm at the Mansfield Town Hall.
If you live on campus: Put your voting address as “1 University of CT” and your mailing address as your dormatory.
If you live off campus, including the Oaks: Put your voting & mailing address as your off-campus address.
You will be required to show ID to vote. Your ID must show your face and name (your student ID or driver’s license will work), and you will also be required to show proof of address. If you live on campus, you can show your housing agreement from the student portal on your phone. If you live off campus, a copy of your lease or any official mail (like an electric bill) with your apartment address will work.
Finally, you may only vote once. If you have already voted at your “home,” or turned in an absentee ballot at your home address, you may not vote again. Doing so is a serious crime.
